History
Founded in 1967 by François Florent, Cours Florent was built on the idea of offering an innovative approach to actor training, centred on the individuality of each student. From its beginnings, the school has aimed to help emerging artists develop their own artistic voice while preparing them for professional careers in theatre, film and the wider performing arts.
Education
Cours Florent offers comprehensive acting programmes built around a multidisciplinary approach, designed to develop well-rounded performing artists.
The training places the individual student at its centre. Once admitted, students work with a range of professors who support them in exploring and developing their artistic potential.
In addition to its professional acting training, Cours Florent also offers the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Acting, delivered in partnership with Regent’s University London, combining artistic practice with an internationally recognised academic qualification (UK Level 6 - Bachelor's degree - 180 ECTS credits).
Career
Students develop both artistic and transferable skills for careers across the performing arts and creative industries. Potential paths include acting (theatre, film and television), directing, writing, teaching or digital content creation. The programme also prepares students for the realities of the profession, with training in audition techniques, showreel and portfolio creation, industry knowledge and professional networking. Alongside artistic practice, students strengthen key transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking, time management and creative entrepreneurship. Graduates of the BA (Hons) Acting may also pursue postgraduate studies internationally.
